The Rail Manufacturing Centre of Rapid Incubator (RMCRI) is a pioneering platform focused on accelerating innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth in South Africa’s rail sector. We support startups and scale-ups with strategic incubation, training, and mentorship to foster a resilient ecosystem.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chairperson to lead the Audit, Risk, and Human Resources Subcommittee. This critical governance role will help steer oversight, ensure accountability, and strengthen internal controls within RMCRI’s operational framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and chair regular meetings of the Audit, Risk, and HR Subcommittee
• Provide strategic oversight on financial audits, risk mitigation, and human
   resources policies
• Offer expert guidance to ensure compliance, ethical conduct, and regulatory
   alignment
• Liaise with the Board and Senior Management on relevant issues and
   recommendations
• Drive best practices in governance, stakeholder management, and institutional
   integrity

WHO SHOULD APPLY

We welcome professionals with solid expertise in any of the following areas:
• Financial management, risk strategy, or audit
• Human capital development or organizational leadership
• Corporate governance or nonprofit board experience

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES AND REQUIREMENT:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Auditing or related fields
• Independent thinking with strong ethical judgement
• Excellent communication, diplomacy, and leadership skills
• Passion for contributing to inclusive economic development and innovation

TERM AND COMMITMENT

• This is a voluntary, non-remunerated position
• Expected commitment: Quarterly subcommittee meetings + occasional
   consultations
