The steering committee members are responsible for monitoring the quality of the GRC ac-
tivities as they develop, providing advice (and sometimes making decisions) about changes
to the project as it develops. This is achieved through the provision of guidelines and strat-
egies, as well as the audit and assurance procedures of TUT, which ensure compliance by
the GRC and while following the university policies together with the applicable laws and
regulations as well as the recognised codes of good practice. During the year under review,
we embarked upon a restructuring of the GRC to establish RMCERI, with the aim to ensure
that the developed IP realised the socio-economic imperatives, thus producing responsible,
accountable and sustainable outcomes.
