South African Automotive Industry
with AIDC
he AIDC, as a major stakeholder in the South African Automotive
Industry, is an enabler of effective and sustainable socio-economic
T growth. The AIDC has specific incubation programmers and models
in the automotive industry. The SARChI FTMT research Chair has
engaged the AIDC to collaborate in localisation and incubation activities.
This effort is aligned with the aspirational vision to increase the local content of
automotive components from 39% (as of 2018) to 60% by 2035.
