anufacturing Indaba is an annual event hosted to empower the manufac-
turing community to identify global trends. The conference opens doors

Mof opportunity and understanding by encouraging participation at the
event through engagement and networking with potential stakeholders and buyers.

Such an event helps to clarify the latest global and manufacturing trends, global competition

and demand for digital transformation. The event also promotes skilled personnel and
informs the community regarding available incentives that could empower their businesses

through collaboration. In addition, the information shared at the conference prepares
the way to develop a more reasonable, competitive and fruitful industry and economy.

The journey started on Monday the 24th of June 2019 when arrangements were

made to transport the heavy machines from the Ditsela research facility in Pretoria to
the Sandton Convention Centre. This was an integral part of the trip to the conference

as the team had to ensure that the machines to be exhibited arrived safely and on
time. When the team arrived, they met with the organisers of the event so that they

could show the team the TUT exhibition space so that the layout could be planned.
